Willa Fox is starting a new school in a new town and state. This isn't a new happening, but this time is different since this time Willa's mom promises will be the last move and the last new school. Her mother's also talking about planning for the future and college! Where did this come from? Willa has lived her nomadic life with her mother a day at a time and never put any thought into the future. Why now? What's different now? Now Willa is not only going to a new school, but a private preparatory school with incredibly wealthy classmates who's parents are professional coaches and CEOs of corporations. Shockingly, Willa fits right in with none other than the Glitterati, aka the very top of the girl food-chain at Valley Prep. Very soon Willa realizes that even in the land of all that is supposed to be perfect at Valley Prep, things are not ok. Cyberbulling and bullying in general are completely out of control and Willa can't just stand by and let it happen anymore...she has to do something...
I asked for this title from NetGalley because of the plot promising a new-age Robin Hood story. There was a Robin Hood story in the end, but not much of one. Along the way not only is the story filled with tons of incredibly shallow and materialistic story but also one very big, "puking rally" type party of rich kids. There isn't a single decent parent in the whole story and the teachers are not only shown in a poor light but never step up and hold their students responsible for something as simple as their homework. The only reason I didn't give this book a 1 is because it did have a decent setting, it did have an interesting idea of a plot, and some action here and there...unfortunately this was not for me and honestly will not be a book I will be buying for my school libraries.
