Author Interview, Exclusive Cover Reveal & 2 Book Giveaway with Lisa Orchards, author of the Super Spies series!

We want to welcome author Lisa Orchards to Libby Blog!

Please tell us about yourself...
Well let's see...I'm married with two boys ages 7 and 5. I'm a stay at home mom. This year will be the first year that I won't have one or both kids at home so I'm hoping to get a lot of writing done.
When I'm not spending time with my family or writing I enjoy nature, especially hiking in the woods. I run and enjoy reading too.

What was the first story you ever wrote?
Hmmm...the first story that I ever wrote is the story about one of my neighbors. Her Japanese, or Chinese Teahouse was destroyed by an act of vandalism when she was on vacation. At that time my friends and I formed our own detective squad and investigated the crime. Of course, we didn't solve the mystery, but I wrote a story about it and in the story we caught bad guys. LOL! That's why fiction is so fun! The bad guys are always put away!

How has life changed since publishing?
I've become busier! Now, I'm not only writing but I'm trying to promote my books. I do author visits to classrooms, guest blog posts and teach writing workshops, but it's something that I really enjoy.

Why the mystery genre?
I developed my love for mysteries and thrillers when I started reading Nancy Drew, and to this day I love mysteries. So, it was natural for me to choose the mystery and thriller genre for my books because that's what I love to read.

Do you have a favorite mystery team/series?
When I wa younger I loved Nancy Drew, The Bobbsey Twins, and Trixie Belden. Now, I love the Dan Brown books and Richard North Patterson. I also love human drama too, like Jodi Picoult and Sue Monk Kidd.

Now for some fun...

Who is your favorite villain and why?
I don't have a favorite villain from a book, but I do have one from a movie. The movie is "Diehard" and I loved Hans Gruber as the villain. He was smart. Alan Rickman did an excellent job as the villain.

What is your favorite meal?
LOL! This is a hard one because I love all kinds of food. I love pizza and seafood. Those are probably my two main loves. :)

What is your favorite music album?
Another tough one because I love music. My favorite bands are The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac and Rush. At the moment, I listen to Rush's album "Spirit of Radio" whenever I'm in the car. To me that album has a lot of positive energy in it.

What is your favorite candy?
LOL! I didn't eat candy for a long time because I was trying to eat healthier, but now that I have kids I let them have candy occasionally and I have been known to indulge also. :) So, right now my favorite is Tootsie Rolls, just like my main character Sarah. :)

What is your favorite movie?
I'd have to say "Love Actually". It's such a "feel good" movie.
