Review: Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone

Time Between Us
Author: Tamara Ireland Stone
Release date: October 9, 2012
Published by: Hyperion
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bennett is from California. Anna is from Illinois. Other than distance, what could make their relationship more difficult? Time. You see, Bennett is from 2012, and Anna is from 1995. Time is working against them as their romance unfolds. Will Bennett figure out a way to stay with Anna before time sucks him back to where—and when—he belongs?

My Thoughts: The story begins very mysteriously with a letter and a brief meeting in 2012. Then it jumps back in time, and Anna is introduced. I wasn’t quite sure at first if I’d like the story because it started out a little slow, in terms of the plot. However, I did get to know Anna and her family and friends first before I met up with the time-traveling Bennett. There was a little built-in dramatic irony because I knew the secret that Bennett was keeping , so every time Anna questioned what was going on (and how weird that guy was acting:) I knew it all. Maybe that’s what actually made the beginning a little slow for me…because once Bennett revealed his secret to Anna, the romance took off and there was adventure, love, and sadness; all of which I very much enjoyed! Thankfully, that romance part was two-thirds of the book, so by the end, I didn’t want to put it down because I wanted to know how and/or whether their time-traveling romance would actually work out!
