June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request--June and Day must assassinate the new Elector.
It's their chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long.
But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she's haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood--what if the Patriots are wrong? (Summary from Goodreads)

I have high hopes for this second book. The first one was interesting but rather flat for me, and I'm really hoping for more depth and world building in book 2.

Author: Charlie Price
Release Date: October 25, 2011
Published by: Farrar, Straus and Giroux

Fourteen-year-old Angel wakes up one morning at her desert trailer home to discover her mother has been murdered by a lowlife named Scotty, who has vanished. Angel has no water, no weapon, but she knows that Scotty, an expert tracker and hunter, will surface soon in order to eliminate her as a witness. She has to run, to disappear, if she is to survive and tell the world what happened. Her flight takes her through a harsh landscape to places she never expected to be, forcing her to trust others for the first time and strengthening her in ways she doesn't even anticipate...until its time to take a stand. (Summary from Goodreads)

This sounds like an interesting murder mystery.

What are you waiting on this week?
